FIRST EVER YEAR ROUND CHEERLEADING TEAM

This is our first ever year round cheerleading team at Toolon. We had a midget cheerleading team that consisted of

and girls aging from 12 - 15 years old. The season can start anytime after January 1st and continue until July 31st.

The team must compete in at least one competition to be eligible for year round status. For our 13 cheerleaders,

the season began in February and continued through April - practicing every Sunday and Wednesday to perfect

their routine. Along the way, they did many fundraisers like candy sales, the pampered chef, a pancake breakfast

at the VFW, and prepared dinners for the Pompey Lion's Club to support their team. The rewards for their efforts

came at the COA Niagara Falls Championships in Hamburg, NY on April 19th where the team took first place as

National Champions! This was an overall great experience for the cheerleaders, coaches, and parents. We all look

forward to the upcoming football season and another successful year round team next year!!

CHEER FUNDRAISERS

We will be doing the Mega Dough fundraiser starting a couple weeks

into practice. This is a 50% profit and will go towards any funding for cheer

(cheer curls, hair bows, music for cheerfest or competition, practice

space, practice mats, extra accessories cheer may need, travel expenses

for competitions, etc). If you do not want to participate in this fundraiser,

please see Jessica Skinner.

PRACTICE

It is very important that your child is at every practice. If your child is

going to be late or absent, you will need to phone your head coach or

Jessica Skinner prior to practice. Failure to do so will result in an unexcused

practice. Each child needs 10-hours of practice prior to the 1st game and prior

to any stunting and tumbling per CNY Pop Warner guidelines. For the competitive

levels - 3 unexcused absences will result in sitting out 1/2 of a game. 4

unexcused absences will result in sitting out the entire game and may reflect

whether or not you may participate in the competition. Being there for your team

is very important (TEAMWORK)

THANKS - LET'S HAVE ANOTHER GREAT SEASON!!!
