TOOLON – Presidents Message

April 17, 2007

I wanted to touch base with everyone to let you know about some activities that TOOLON has had.  Soon it will be summer and although football starts just before the next school year, we have much to do between now and then.

Money, money, money.  Two topics here.  First is that your board has appropriated funds to both upgrade the facilities and improve safety at TOOLON.  These items are (but not done yet):

            1) Approved $500 for the installation of bases for netting to control balls.

            2) Approved $250 for the purchase of a backboard.

            3) Approved $1000 for the purchase of an agricultural roller for the fields.

            4) Approved $2000 for the purchase of a defibrillator to be kept at our location.

            5) Approved $500 for the purchase of electronic scales.

            6) Approved $2500 for the purchase of an equipment trailer/container.

            7) Approved $2000 for the purchase of commercial electronic fryers.

We can spend money!  These approvals are all “not to exceed” amounts and board members have been working hard to keep the expenditures down.  We will update you on the “final damage” when we know.

The second topic regarding money is that we will officially “shut down” the “Light ‘Em Up” donation program shortly before August 1st.  We need to design and resurrect the permanent sign thanking the contributors. If you know of anyone that might still be interested, please have them contact us ASAP ($250/fixture).

I am busy politicking with CNY Pop Warner to make the travel, competition differences, and scheduling all more streamlined, efficient and safe.  Our board will plan some field work days and equipment and building work days as well.  Please give us a hand.

We project a nice increase in players and cheerleaders this coming year.  Please encourage everyone you know to participate in the TOOLON experience!

                                                                                                                                                                    Sincerely,

                                             Pat
